Regular Sight Tests

The gift of sight is a precious but fragile gift. There are many diseases and conditions such as Glaucoma or Diabetes which can seriously threaten the health of your eyes. The only way to protect your eyesight is through regular sight tests and check ups from a qualified optician. It is recommended that you have a sight test every two years. However, if you suffer from a condition such as Glaucoma or Diabetes you may need check ups on a more regular basis. If you have any doubts whatsoever about the health of your eyes you should contact us immediately for a check up.

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are an excellent way to take a break from your glasses for weekends, special occasions or as an alternative to glasses for your vision needs. Daily disposable contact lenses are extremely soft and thin and you won't even know that you are wearing them! You can now get daily disposable contact lenses for as little as £1 a pair. This means that every time you wear them it only costs £1, so if you wear them at weekends it costs £2 a week! Daily disposable contact lenses do not have to be cleaned or disinfected, you get a fresh sterile pair of lenses every time and you throw them away when you are finished with them.

In terms of your eye health, contact lenses are still deemed to be a 'Medical Device'. You must use them as directed by a qualified optician to avoid potentially serious damage to your eyes. If you wear contact lenses, you should have a contact lens check up at least once a year. If you would like to try contact lenses, please Contact Us

VDU Computer Screen users

These days almost everybody uses a computer screen at work or at home. There are strict Health & Safety guidelines which protect employees who use VDU screens. If you are exposed to a VDU screen in your place of employment your vision should be screened by a qualified optician once every two years. This may be provided by your employer free of charge.
